Social Entrepreneurship

Social Entrepreneurship is about solutions and transformations that will benefit individuals, communities and, ultimately, society at large. It is the application of entrepreneurial characteristics – innovation, leadership, tenacity, risk-taking and vision – to achieve economic, social and environmental, rather than financial, objectives.

Tackling complex challenges from the ground up, social entrepreneurs work in areas such as climate change, sustainable business, public health, education for the poor, human rights, conflict, water scarcity. Social entrepreneurs are at the forefront of a growing movement to scale-up postive, sustainable change.
